About Elevator Speed Limiter
The speed limiter is one of the safety control components in the elevator safety protection system. When the elevator car is overspeeding or even in danger of falling for any reason during operation, and the running speed exceeds 115% of the rated speed, a signal will be sent in time to cut off the power supply circuit and brake the traction machine. If the traction machine still cannot brake at this time, the speed limiter will further drive the safety clamp at the bottom of the car to force the car to stop.
The speed limiter is generally located on the floor slab in the elevator machine room, but it can also be directly installed on the load-bearing beam. The speed limiter without a machine room will also be installed on the guide rail or the bottom pit floor.
