Elevator Accessories Introduction - Elevator Buffer

Elevator buffer is an elevator safety device that provides the last safety protection. When the elevator exceeds the bottom or top floor of the terminal floor station due to wire rope breakage, traction friction, insufficient brake force, or control system failure during upward or downward movement, the buffer will act as a buffer, just like the airbag of a car, to prevent the elevator car or counterweight from directly hitting the bottom or top, protecting the safety of passengers and equipment.

It is generally installed in the bottom pit of the elevator shaft, directly below the car and counterweight.
